Review: The Future of Us

The Future of Us
The Future of Us by Jay Asher

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Super-quick read. Interesting plot and well-executed for the audience. This is a teen book, and it reads as such. I read some negative reviews about the "vapid" and self-absorbed teenagers. Why aren't they looking up the political climate? Because 1) they're teens and don't care and 2) things aren't bad in the mid-90s. Of course they're focused on themselves.

This would be a good plane book. The short chapters - where the voice goes back and forth between Emma and Josh - are easy to read and easy to start and start. The book doesn't require full attention, which sometimes is a very good thing.
