The False Friend by Myla Goldberg
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
It's hard to call this a spoiled review because there was hardly any story to spoil!
This book was probably more 2.5 than 2. I finished it, so it wasn't awful. In fact, the middle went along at an okay pace, but there was no real payout or conflict. At the end of the book, I kind of felt like "why did I bother?"
There were a couple of stray chapters from Huck's point of view, which was silly. There weren't enough to make them matter, and I felt like they just interrupted the real story.
