What Is TimesSelect?

Man, this new TimesSelect really upsets me. I cannot afford to subscribe the NY Times, and I cannot afford $50/year to sign up for Times Select. I really like the op-ed columns. I hate this trend of newspapers charging. I realize they have a need to be relevant, but I really don't think most people are going to pay for the services. I'm certainly not going to.
