Our stupid government is going to have a field day with this (reason for striking down Oregon's assisted suicide law?). They weren't there, how could they know what it was like?
I think it should be investigated because we need to know what happened during such a tragedy, so maybe we can avoid it in the future. But the way King makes it sound angers me, and I fear for those he talks about.
I hope if I'm in a situation like that, someone will be willing to do anything to help me. If I'm not going to survive, why lengthen the ordeal, the suffering? Who else is going to save me?

Fred's son was a resident at Tulane's hospital; I've never met him, but Fred and my mom talked to him a few weeks ago, and they said it sounded pretty bad.
