Aaron and I went to the zoo, and I made him do silly things. He didn't like it, said the hole was too small for his head. (Don't read more into that than necessary. Thanks.)

The zoo was fun! And cheap - someone gave us free tickets when we got there, but it's only $8 anyway.

The battles between Winston and Valentino continue. They're mostly funny, seeing as how Winston's a big wimp.

Nice to see Tino getting his groove back, though.

Mike DeWine is an embarrassment. And so backward. And so narrow-minded.

Dear Adrienna:

Thank you for contacting me. I always have believed that marriage is between a man and a woman. That's why, in 1996, I voted for the Defense of Marriage Act, and why I am a co-sponsor of Senate Joint Resolution 1, the proposed Constitutional amendment that would legally define marriage as the union between a man and a woman.

Currently, the proposed amendment is likely to come up for a vote in the Judiciary Committee, of which I am a member, soon and then move on to the Senate Floor for debate. I will support the proposed marriage amendment in Committee and on the Senate Floor.

Kitty update

Val & Dallas get a little closer

Valentino is doing better. Much more energetic, and the steroids are making him crazy about food.

He's also getting a little feisty with the biggies. But here, you can see that Dallas and Val are getting along a little better. He's also taken to chasing her. Winston, on the other hand, is still just plain jealous.

The little one is back home after a day of pain meds, steroids, and antibiotics. I have more steroids and antibiotics to give him. Good news is that he's perked up some and his PCV is slightly up (nowhere near normal, though). He's making more red blood cells, so that's encouraging, too.

And right now? He's eating and purring and being the loving little guy he is. I hope, hope, hope it continues.

Oh, and he definitely has the blood parasite.

Valentino is very, very sick. Looks like he has a blood parasite. He's severely anemic, and today, he developed a heart murmur and is slightly jaundiced.

He's at Banfield getting steroids, pain meds, and fluids. Further course of action depends on how he responds, if his blood count continues to drop.

Election Day

Valentino

Valentino's sick. Completely lethargic, not eating. He pooped and didn't even seem to realize it. (That's in a baggy, waiting for the visit to the vet tomorrow.)

I'm so worried, and this is bringing back the nightmare I had w/ Winston in 2004. I feel absolutely helpless, and he seems so sad. I'm really, really scared.
